About Me

About Me
I am drawn by the stories young people know to be real, stories from which their communities politely glance away. There was always something voyeuristic about good writing to me. I think that’s why George Orwell said, “Good writing is like a window pane.” I use this blog as a place to tear apart my favorite YA books in an effort to understand how they work. Then I sit down at my laptop and try to do it myself.
